16.where与what place的辨析:
(1)where意为“哪里”,为地点副词,不能与介词连用;
(2)what place意为“什么地方”,为名词短语,可与介词连用。

= What place does Tom live in?

17. How does he like...? 与What does he look like?的区别:
(1) How does he like? 意为“他认为怎么样?”用来询问观点,看法,意见,相当于What does he think of?
e.g. How does he like?
It’s a good idea. 或Terrible.
(2) What does he look like? 意为“他长得怎么样?”用来询问外貌。
e.g.What does he look like?
He is of medium height.
或He has black hair.
或He is tall.
18. look与look like的辨析:
(1)look意为“看起来”,为感官动词,后接形容词;
(2)look like意为“看起来像”,like为介词,后接名词。
e.g. Your mother looks very young.
Tom looks like his father.
19. a number of与the number of的区分 :
(1)a number of意为“许多,大量”,修饰可数名词复数,其作主语谓语动词用复数;
(2)the number of意为“……的数量”,修饰可数名词复数,其做主语谓语动词用单数。
e.g. ①A number of students are planting trees.
The number of students in our class is ten.
②A number of sheep are eating grass on the hill.

20. interest的用法辨析:
(1)interest为名词,意为“兴趣”;
(2)interest的形容词为interested和interesting;
(3)interested 与interesting的区别:
①interested “感兴趣的”,用来修饰人;

(4)与interest有关的短语:

(2)-ing表示“令人感到某种情感”,主语为物。
e. g. interesting令人感兴趣的
exciting令人兴奋的

The book is interesting.
22. shout to与shout at的区别:
(1)shout to意为“向……叫喊,呼唤”,指朝某人大喊大叫,是远距离的,目的是让对方听到,无感情色彩;
(2)shout at意为“对……大声喊。叱喝”,指近距离的朝某人喊,含有骂人的意思。
